Hoop nets (also called barrel nets or fiddler nets) are one of the most common fishing nets. Hoop nets are tubular nets containing multiple hoops spaced along their length, seven per net and tapered for stability. Finger style throats are placed on the second and fourth hoops. Our finger style throats are hand tapered and a finger line is tied to each mesh. It takes a lot more time to make throats this way, but you get better catching nets. The throats are longer than the cheap square throats often found on other hoop nets. The special design of our throats makes it easy for fish to swim through but next to impossible to escape.
